Good film installed well should last as long as you own the vehicle. Almost every early failure we see traces back to the first week, or to a car wash. Here is everything worth knowing, in the order it matters.

Window Tint: The First Week

• Do not roll the windows down for 3–5 days. This is the big one. The adhesive is still curing and a moving window can peel or shift the film edge.
• Expect some haze or tiny water pockets. Moisture trapped during installation evaporates out through the film. It clears on its own, usually within one to two weeks, and faster in summer heat.
• Do not pick at edges or corners. If something looks off, leave it and call us instead.
• Park in the sun if you can. Warmth speeds curing. This is the one time a hot Georgia parking lot works in your favour.

Window Tint: Long Term

After curing, tint is genuinely low maintenance. Two rules keep it perfect:

• Ammonia-free cleaners only. Ammonia attacks film adhesive and can cause hazing or discolouration. Many household blue glass cleaners contain it — check the label.
• Soft microfibre, not paper towels or squeegee blades. Film is scratch resistant, not scratch proof. Clean the interior glass gently and always wipe away from the film edges, not into them.

Vinyl Wrap Care

• Hand wash where possible. Automatic washes with spinning brushes are the fastest way to scuff vinyl and lift a seam. Touchless is acceptable; hand washing with a soft mitt is best.
• Keep pressure washers off the edges. High-pressure water aimed straight at a seam can get under the vinyl. Stay back and avoid direct edge contact.
• Clean fuel spills and bird droppings promptly. Both are acidic and will stain vinyl faster than paint. A quick rinse is usually all it takes.
• No wax or polish on matte and satin finishes. They fill the texture and create shiny patches you cannot undo. Use a wrap-safe sealant instead — ask us what we recommend.
• Park in shade when you can. Constant UV is what ages any wrap, especially reds and matte finishes.

Paint Protection Film Care

PPF is the most forgiving of the three. Wash it like paint. The one thing worth knowing is the self-healing property — light swirls and fine scratches in the film's top layer disappear with heat. A warm day, warm water from a hose, or a careful pass with a heat gun resets the surface. Do not attack a mark with abrasive polish; let the heat do the work.
